Pastel Nail Colours are in for Spring!

All of our polish lines have done a great job of creating some beautiful pastel colours that are fitting for the trend.

Inglot #989

This beautiful pastel green comes from Inglot’s new colour line seen here! The popular Tiffany blue colour is always a top favorite with our clients.

Deborah Lippmann Constant Craving

A beautiful lilac pastel shade that compliments short square nails and all floral prints!

Gelish Princess Tiara

You can find pastel colours in our Gel polishes too! It was a popular colour for Easter and continued to trend. It pairs so well with just jeans and a t-shirt.

Shellac Tropix

This colour is so versatile and perfect for layering. Apply 1 coat of Tropix ontop of two coats of cream puff and you get a strong pastel orange.

When dealing with Pastel colours this spring and summer, consider these quick tips from InStyle…

When opting for this lighter look, remember to keep your finishes in mind—ultra-glossy top coats create a high-fashion feel, while a jeweled glitter swipe adds a touch of sparkle. Just be sure to steer clear of matte polishes—the lack of shine makes the colors chalky with a Wite-Out-esque appearance.

After Wax Care

The beauty of waxing, is that the hair won’t grow back fully until 2-3 weeks! The downside is that some of us are prone to ingrown hair’s and sensitivities…

An in grown hair is caused by the hair being to thin or curly and skin being to thick for the hair to fully grow out of the hair follicle. This creates tiny, sometimes sore, red bumps. Common places to get  in grown hairs are your armpit, beard and bikini area.

Some great after wax care products that help with in grown hairs and sensitivity are Tend Skin and Sweet Spot Labs.

Tend Skin is a formula to be applied daily to the area where razor bumps or in grown hairs are occurring. It can also be applied before waxing to bring out all the hairs and ease the pain. Because of it’s high alcohol content, moisturizing is recommended after as well as a small patch test before to see if an irritation/sensitivity may occur.

Tend skin was discovered in 1985, and has been on the market since with various products and research to the line. It is our number one waxing after care product and our go to for ingrown hairs.

SweetSpot Labs Gentle Feminine Wash, UnscentedSweet Spot’s Gentle Wash is another recommendation. It is for the ladies with a fresh Brazilian Wax. After a Brazilian or Bikini wax, the area is sensitive for the next 24 hours. Your regular body wash way sting a little or irritate your skin. This is where Sweet Spot’s unscented Gentle Wash jumps in. It balances the PH level of your skin as well as soothes and calms the area. Use everyday along with Balancing Mist and On The Go Wipette’s to make sure you are always prepared for anything, anywhere…

Both Tend Skin and Sweet Spot Labs are available in Hammam Spa’s Boutique, visit us today and speak to one of our Skin Therapist for more information!

Tips For The Hammam

Our 500 square foot Hammam is our pride and joy here at Hammam Spa. It really completes any treatment we have and is very beneficial for the body. Here are some quick Tips for the Hammam in order for you to get the best results and steam safely!

(1) Drink Water : Make sure you are drinking lots of water to prevent dizziness and dehydration. Especially if you go into the Hammam after a massage or body treatment. Water is provided all throughout the spa including in the Hammam for our clients.

(2) Take a Cold Shower : Hot and cold are a great combination for the body. Taking a cold shower when you step out of the Hammam tightens your skin and pores and prevents you from over heating. Two showers are available right outside the Hammam for our clients to hop into in between steaming.

(3) Eat : Make sure you are well nourished before you steam to prevent you from feeling weak and faint. Help yourself to the fruit and cookies in the lounge area or ask our front desk staff to add on a gourmet spa lunch to your services.

(4) Take Breaks : Some people may be able to handle staying in the Hammam for 30 minutes straight but we suggest taking breaks in between. Try steaming for 5 minutes and rest for 2 minutes. While you are resting, this would be when you take a cold shower and drink water* Then head back into the Hammam for another 5 minutes and rest for another 2 minutes.

(5) Exfoliate : The Hammam softens up the skin and loosens dead skin cells. This makes it great for exfoliation afterwards. Book our Turkish Bath Treatment after 15 – 30 minutes of steaming and you will see what we mean!

(6) Use a Cold Compress : We have provided Eucalyptus scented cold compresses available in the fridge in the Hammam. Bring it into the steam room! Place on the back of your neck to cool your body temperature down or place it on your face to breath easier.

(7) Treat Your Hair : Heat helps penetrate hair products deeper. Buy our Macadamia Nut Oil or Hair Mask, apply it to your hair and tie up in a bun while you steam! Rinse with cold water and your hair will be conditioned and shinier than ever.

You may follow all these steps or some to get the most out of our Hammam!
